Weapons of mass deception

George W Bush has defended Tony Blair against accusations that he exaggerated the danger of Iraq’s “weapons of mass destruction” (found so far: half a dozen SCUDs somewhat beyond their use-by date and an old caravan with a chemistry set in it) to garner support for a war.

So that’s OK. Thanks, George. Sorry we doubted you, Tony.

Of course, Bush hasn’t just come out with this because he’s being accused of exactly the same thing by Democratic Senator John Kerry. No, no, not at all.

On a lighter note, it looks like Ananova might be suffering from an acute lack of sub-editors. Or perhaps they’re just being obtuse?
