Another year

First New Year Resolution looks like it ought to be to post here more often. Still, not posting anything for, ooh, seven weeks ought to give me plenty to say, right? You’d think so, yes. There’ve been plenty of Isla developments - after a bit of a wobbly start she’s growing fast, mostly, it appears, longitudinally, but she’s piling on the pounds too. She’s eight pounds something now, having managed to put on a whole pound in a single week over Christmas. She’s seven weeks old today and still ace. She can be trying at times (specifically, 4.45am) but she’s started smiling at things now, and that makes up for absolutely anything at all.

I’d talk about stuff other than babies but that’s about all there’s been for a while. I have yet to ride a bike in 2006, a sorry state of affairs that I hope to rectify this week. At the very worst I’ll be out for the SPAMBiking Winter Challenge at the weekend. Hopefully it’ll be aggressively cold, it’s a bit of a slog if the temperature’s above freezing.

I wish the SPAMbiking winter challenge was a week earlier, I could have done it as I was only down the road from there over christmas. I’ll have to find some other silly event to do instead :)

This is Mike Davis, but not that Mike Davis. I kind of wish that I had written a number of big-selling books about culture and society in Los Angeles, but alas I have not. You’ll be wanting this one
